Overview

Metro welcomes bikes with transit on rail and bus.

Bike being loaded on Metro Rapid BusBicycles are allowed on Metro Rail with some restrictions during peak hours. For more information on Bike on Rail rules go to rail link. Many bikes are left on buses. Please check the Metro Lost & Found to retrieve your bike.

Bicycle racks are available first-come, first-serve on Metro buses. For more information on loading and unloading your bicycle click here.

Bicycle permits are no longer required.

If you observe a safety or security problem, call 323.563.5000.

Metro provides bicycle parking at most rail stations. Please go to Bike Racks & Lockers for information on locations and how to reserve a locker.

 

Getting Help

Get a customized bus and rail trip itinerary 24 hours a day by using our Metro Trip Planner. Enter your starting point, where you want to travel to, the day you want to travel and the time of day your trip will take place. The trip planner will tell you what line to take and where to catch it.

You can also call 1-800-COMMUTE (1-800-266-6883), the Metro System's toll-free telephone information number for all LA county transit services. Tell the customer representative where you want to go, where you are starting and the day and time you want to travel. You'll find out what bus or rail line to take and where to catch it.

Metro Information Hours
Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 7 pm
Saturday & Sunday 8 am - 4:30 pm

Best times to call are usually Monday – Friday 11am – 3pm and Saturday & Sunday 10am – 3pm

Riders with Disabilities

To further assist those with visual impairments, Metro provides Braille-encoded and large type “Metro Flash Books” for signaling the correct bus. For more information please call 213.922.7023.

Metro is also the primary funding source for Access Services Incorporated, the federally-required ADA paratransit service. This service is offered to individuals whose disabilities prevent them from independently using regular bus or rail service. It is comparable to fixed-route service and offers 24-hours-a-day curb-to-curb service. For more information, please call Access Services Incorporated at 1.800.827.0829.
